Writer's picture: thechaoscuratedthechaoscurated

We have a super SIMPLE gift idea to turn your kid's artwork into a mini masterpiece that can fit in your wallet... at home and with limited supplies! We've used this idea for Father's Day and a going away gift, but the possibilities are kind of endless. And it is SO easy.

Materials:

- 2 pieces of white printer paper

- Markers

- Scissors

- Phone/computer/printer

- Laminator or clear packaging tape

Step 1: Grab two pieces of printer paper and some markers. Have the kids draw a picture on one side and a note on the other (or just two pictures if they're not writing yet!).

Step 2: Take a picture of the pictures. I took the pictures in a room without lights on, and then I edited the brightness up plus cropped to fit.

Step 3: Put the pictures in a document (I usually hate Word, but used it for this because it's so easy to measure inches) and shrink them down to 2 inches x 3 inches.

Step 4: Print the mini pictures and cut them out.

Step 5: Put the two pictures back to back (with help from the little tape roll) and either put them through the laminating machine or cover them with strips of clear packaging tape. This will make them more durable of course!

Step 6: Cut around the image (leaving a tiny bit of room so that you don't break the plastic seal). Now it's ready to put in a wallet!!

So simple and kind of genius right? Taking a bow now! :)
